We are searching for a Public Safety Officer II to perform all duties and responsibilities related to the day-to-day protection and security of Southcoast Health System (SHS) and Southcoast Hospitals Group (SHG) assets and information as well as the safety of all persons on hospital/SHS property.
The incumbent Officer proactively guards against fire, theft, vandalism and unauthorized entry to SHG grounds and/or buildings while controlling access points.
This position could have additional responsibilities assigned at the direction of department leadership.
They will be cross-trained and eligible to work at other SHG locations as needed.

Tobey Hospital - Wareham, MA Education and/or Experience Requirements:
High school diploma or GED equivalent required, associate's degree preferred.
Prior military, security, corrections or police experience a plus.
State Special Police Officer (SSPO) designation obtained after completion of an approved Reserve Intermittent or Full Time Police Academy certified by the Massachusetts Municipal Police Training Committee (MPTC) or New Bedford Special Police Officer designation Completion of approved annual course training/competency or completion of Certified Advanced Healthcare Security Officer At least 6-8 months' experience as a Public Safety Officer I at Southcoast Health Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus and provide required vaccination documentation unless approved for an exemption or deferral by Southcoast prior to starting employment.
