Business Development Manager

JOB SUMMARY Identifies key prospects and develops strategic relationships with partners in various commerce and distribution channels.
Responsible for entire business development cycle from prospecting, presenting partnership benefits, analyzing potential financial terms and negotiating contracts.
Responsible for implementation and ongoing management of relationships, as resources are required.
Works within assigned vertical markets to maximize profitable relationships in respective target industries.
JOB DUTIESNegotiates strategic alliances with business partners including presentations, contracts, and business and legal issues.
Works in conjunction with internal Block business units to negotiate and implement business opportunities.
Assists in budgeting of business opportunities.
Discusses customer needs, problems and/or complaints.
Arranges for meetings between customers or prospective customers and representatives of internal Block business units.
Communicates with internal Block business units, Marketing, (business development teams/multicultural team), and ad agency and/or technical groups to plan and identify efficient and effective processes and practices related to partnerships.
Monitors partner performance and communicate status and results to Director.
Implements and manages relationships with business partners on an as-needed basis, as resources require.
Maintains strong understanding of competitive and market forces affecting H&R Block and its ongoing strategy.
Partner with FSO multicultural team to deliver multicultural/Latino strategy or Implement and deliver Multicultural strategy to fieldAbility to train or partner with training team to deliver important initiatives to fieldJOB REQUIREMENTSPrefer prior District Manager or Franchise Consultant experience at BlockMust have excellent influencing skillsMust have experience working in high Latino markets/culturesExperience with non-profit or community outreach activities a plusIdentifies business partnerships that offer a strategic fit in support of Block's business strategy.
Meets with customers and/or prospects to discuss their needs, outlining appropriate company services, and resolving problems as necessary.
Documents contacts and results.
Submits reports as necessary.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
